What is the Cost & what kind of food to expect?
This regional cuisine from Nepal can be found all along the Gokyo Ri Trek route. Momo, fried rice, Noodles, chapati, breat, Dalbbat etc. are available. You will find tea, coffee, and soft beverages helpful to keep you hydrated.

- Buying bottled water is not recommended but if you want to have normal water – have one or two and reuse the bottles or carry these bottles with you. I am sure you want your kids to trek in this region in future.
- Use your bottle to refill with boiled water
- You can keep a mini thermoflask to keep hot water- a sip of warm water clears the throat jammed by cold in the Himalayas
Transportation cost & method of travel
A one-way flight from Kathmandu to Lukla averaged about 200 dollars per passenger – price as of 2023 March. But this flight cost will fluctuate in accordance with airlines. There are more than 4 airlines operating flight to Lukla.
If you have enough time, another alternative is to travel from Kathmandu to salleri by bus & jeep, which costs about $20 to $30. From salleri you can start the trek to Gokyo. This will add 3 to 5 days extra on your normal Gokyo ri trekking plan.
Some people want to make very short and quick visit to the Gokyo lakes – for this one and only option is to take helicopter to Gokyo lakes. Or you can trek till Gokyo lakes and fly out from the Gokyo lakes on chopper.

Wifi
