A massive avalanche and an earthquake completely destroyed the village of Langtang in April 2015. There were 310 deaths in the village, including 176 Langtang residents, 80 foreigners, and 10 army personnel. Among the bodies missing were more than 100.

The best time to visit Langtang is between April to June in the spring season. It receives maximum sunshine and monsoon at this time. You can have an amazing time enjoying the view of snow capped peaks and crystal clear water streams.

End of September, October and November till early December are also regarded as the best months throughout the year. October is festival season for Nepal. Thus, blending Langtang valley trekking with Dashain or TIhar festival can be an ideal trip planning in Nepal.

Day 1 :

Drive from Kathmandu to SyabruBensi (1450m); 4-6 hours

The new road from Kathmandu to Syapru has cut the 8 hours drive to make it short and doable in 4 hours by jeep. However the bus still goes from Dhunche and takes 8 hours to get to Syapru besi. Syapru is a small rural town by the Kerung River.
Kerung river comes from China.

Day 2 :

Start of Langtang valley trek from SyabruBensi to Lama Hotel (2480m); 6 hours approx Day

Trekking starts after breakfast at Syapru and passes along the small tea shops en-route. Places like Bamboo, Tiwari, Pahiro, Domen are interesting to walk by before getting to Lama hotel.
Lama hotel is by the Langtang river. This village is in a pristine location inside the peace of Jungle.

Day 3 :

Trek from Lama Hotel to Langtang (3540m); 6 hours

Today the trekking starts from the jungle and ends at no tree zone. Walking this river valley trail is mostly by the river and into the woods.

Day 4 :

From Langtang to KyanjinGompa (3900m); 4 hours

It is a short and easy walk towards the snow capped mountains. View of mountains are stunning and we get really close to the mountainns once Kyanjing village is seen.

Day 5 :

Acclimatization/Explore/Side Trip of your choice

There are multiple options for the side trip from Kyanjing. Your guide will decide on the best possible place according to your fitness. Guide will consult with you about your health and place to go for today's side hikes for the best possible view.

Day 6 :

Kyanjin Gompa to Lama Hotel (2480m)

The return trekking after beautiful trek along the river valley follows the same route back to Lama hotel. From Lama hotel the trail to Gosainkunda or helambu separates.

Day 7 :

Lama Hotel to Syabrubensi

This is the last day of the hike with mostly downhill trail. Walking inside the forest will give chance to witness the wildlife.

Day 8 :

Drive back from Syabrubensi to Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.

once arrived at Kathmandu you will be drpped to your hotel at Thamel. Whereas the drive from Syaprubesi to Kathmandu is same route as taken to start the trekking. Hotel at Kathmandu can be arranged if asked so. Time has come to say good bye for now.

1) Where is the Langtang Trek located?

Langtang valley trek is located in the Northeast of Kathmandu and is the North central Mountain region of Nepal. This trek begins generally from Sybrubeshi and is 68 kilometers From Kathmandu. It is on the border of Tibet and Nepal and also it covers the Langtang National park.

2) Where should I get Bus to go Langtang trek?

There are different buses that leave every day from Kathmandu to Dhunche and Sybrubeshi. Machhapokhari is the place from where you can get buses in the Morning. asmore, there are also microbes services, but they are small in size and quite small. You have two different choices, but we suggest bus much better.

3) How many days do we need for Langtang trekking?

Langtang region is quite big and there is some alternative path to extend the time but basically, the Langtang trek takes 8 days which is mentioned in our itinerery with details information.

4) Is the Langtang trek very difficult?

Langtang 8 days trek is an easy to moderate type of trek. it is not as difficult as other trekking routes are in Nepal such as the Everest region trek, Manaslu region trek, or Annapurna region trek. If you are simply fit you can do it. If you are trekking for the very first time, I think Langtang is the place to go and enjoy the magical high Mountain View. This trek offers magnificent views, a cultural aroma, and easy trails to walk. However, it is easy to trek so all ages people, including kids, and students can make it easier.

5) Can we get an ATM machine along the route?

No, you can’t get an ATM along the route. Even if you won’t get Money Exchange service along the route, therefore; you should be preparing from Kathmandu for your Budget.

6) Can we charge our cameras and phones along the trails?

Yes, you can charge your electrical devices along the route. Only a few lodges have a solar panel, still, you can charge. The lodge’s owners may charge a small amount of money if you use their charging service.

7) Are Lodges provide wi-fi services?

Langtang region is geographically a remote and very high alpine zone; hence the Wi-Fi facility is not in excess every corner of this region. However, in the Langtang trek, few Lodges provide Wi-Fi services.

8) Do we need a guide for Langtang trek?

Yes You need guide either do the trek solo or hire a local trekking guide for the trek. However, Trekking to Langtang Valley without a guide can be challenging, but it is difficult without a guide.

9) How far is Gosaikunda Lake from Kathmandu?

The distance from Kathmandu to Lake Gosaikunda is 67.5 miles (108.63 km), and a short trip from Kathmandu to Lake Gosaikunda and back to Kathmandu takes 8 days.

10) When is the best time for Langtang Valley trek?

The best time for langtang valley is autumn (September to November) and spring (March to May) is the best season in Everest region to go on a trek.
