How to get to Namche?

Namche Bazaar trek starts from a scenic flight from Kathmandu (Tribhuvan International Airport) to Lukla (Tenzing Hillary airport aka Lukla airport). Lukla airport is also considered as one of the most adventurous/dangerous airports in the world.

The trekkers flying from Kathmandu to Lukla will definitely achieve the thrill with air turbulence of mountain flight in a small plane.

To reach Namche the trekkers have to follow the trails of Phakding and Monjo.

      Cost of flight from Lukla to Kathmandu both ways has made the Namche bazaar cost higher for short treks like this. Even though it is a 5 days trek – the cost is very high – it’s just because of the flight cost involved for the trip.
    If you want to make Namche Bazaar trek longer than 5 days, the cost can go lower. Feel free to ask us for the Namche Bazaar trek cost without Kathmandu Lukla flight. But reducing the cost – increases the trekking days.

    Itinerary

    This is the first day of your Namche trek. You will have scenic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. It will take around 35 minutes to reach to Lukla from Kathmandu. After reaching to Lukla, you have to trek around 3 hours to reach to Phakding. You will stay overnight at Phakding

    Trekking to Namche from Phakding starts with pleasant slope trail along with the view of Mt. Thamserku. During the trail you have to cross through the suspension bridges. You can also get the 1st view of Mount Everest while trekking from Phakding to Namche. The trek from Phakding to Namche will take around 6 hours of walk. You will stay overnight at Namche.

    This day you will be following the steep trail. Day hike from Namche to Khumjung village will offer you to watch big snow-capped mountains such as Mt. Everest, Mt. Amadablam, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Thamserku and others peak. You will also indulge the local museum and monasteries over there. It will take around 40 minutes to reach Khumjung village from Namche. After the exploration at Khumjung village you will trek back to Monjo. It will take around 5 hours to reach to Monjo from Khumjung village.

    It will take around 6 and half hours from Monjo to reach to Lukla. You will be trekking downhill from Monjo to reach to Lukla.

    This is the last day of your trek. It will take around 35 minutes to reach to Kathmandu to Lukla. After reaching to Kathmandu our office representative will help you for your departure to home.

    There are no bus service between Kathmandu and Lukla. The roadhead to reach Lukla currently is Jiri or further till Salleri. To reach Lukla, one has to trek from there. Its about 3 days trek from Salleri to Lukla.

    6) Can you see Mt Everest from Namche Bazaar?

    Not from Namche bazaar but if you hike Sherpa Museum or Everest view lodge from the Namche then you able to see, great view of Top of the wold Mount Everest which is 8848 M.
