To experience the culture and tradition of local Gurung community, Ghandruk village hike is regarded as one of the best cultural hike to do in Nepal. In this hike, the hikers will be offered to view the majestic Annapurna ranges, Mount Hiunchuli, Mount Manaslu and Mount Machhapuchhre (Fish Tail) along with exploring the villages, villages and wildlife of Annapurna Conservation Area.

The hikers will follow the trail through dense forest and rhododendron forest where they will be witnessing the natural beauty of the surrounding such as greenery and green hill landscapes.

During Ghandruk Village hike, the hikers will start the trip with the drive and hike several days to reach the famous Ghandruk Village.

Itinerary of Ghandruk Village Hike

The initiation of Ghandruk village is from Kathmandu. The 1st day of your trip will take you to Pokhara. You can either choose drive or flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara to reach to Kathmandu. It will take you 8 hours by drive and 25 minutes by flight to reach to Pokhara

The next day, you have to take a short drive around 45 minutes to reach to Phedi. From Phedi your hike actually starts. You will hike complete uphill around 20 – 30 minutes and passes through the village of Dhampus and later pass through dense forest and reach to Pothana. You can find teahouses and shops at Pothana.

On the next day, you will continue your hike from Pothana to your destination Ghandruk. During the hike you will walk through lush forests and reach to Deurali. Once you reach to Deurali, you have to walk through downhill trail.

Ghandruk Village Hike

Walking through downhill trail will take you to Tolkha. Tolkha is also known for the settlement of Gurung people. Following the trail from Tolkha, you will reach to Landruk (ethnic village). From Landruk, the hikers have to pass through Modi Khola River which will take you to Ghandruk.

Reaching to Ghandruk will offer you to witness the majestic view of mountain ranges. Exploring Gurung museum and culture and tradition of local people during your overnight at teahouse/lodges is major part of Ghandruk Village hike.

Early breakfast at Ghandruk and hike through villages and views of paddy field will lead you to the place Nayapul. Driving in a jeep from Nayapul to reach to Pokhara will offer you some surrounding beauties to witness.

As like 1st day of your trip, the last day of your trip also offers you to choose either flight or drive to reach to Kathmandu.
