Everest Basecamp Trekking & Kathmandu

16 Days

Everest Basecamp Trekking is one of the most common things in the bucket list of many people around the world, which is not that hard as many would imagine. The legendary Everest Basecamp trekking has the best views in the world – but that is not all.

Everest Basecamp Trekking Kathmandu
The Everest Base Camp Trek is one of the most iconic and popular trekking routes in the world, attracting thousands of trekkers each year to the breathtaking landscapes of the Everest region in Nepal.

The trek is also a good chance to learn about the unique Sherpa culture in the hidden mountain valleys. Witnessing Lama, nuns & monks praying in monasteries in pin-drop silence & balancing on suspension bridges – that cross the same river five times on a single day’s trek – which gets you each time a bit higher.

Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay Sherpa were the first people to climb Mount Everest on May 28, 1953 and from the 70ā€™s the trekking route ( Everest Trekking Tour) was established.

In this Everest basecamp trekking – you will be following the steps of those legends. Trekking tour starts after an introductory tour of Kathmandu valley. Kathmandu is the capital of Nepal and also a hub of history of Nepal. Most of Nepal will be introduced in a day tour, by our local guides. Insights of the city tour and trekking in the remote mountains – towards the basecamp of tallest peak in the world; certainly makes an awesome trip indeed.

Hidden valley to Khunde & Khumjung villages, Manni walls and Stupas, and especially Mt. Amadablam along the trail will be some of the many interesting subjects to talk about with your guide.

Preferred seasons for Everest Basecamp Trekking

Seasons from March to May & from September to December are recommended as best, but Everest Base Camp trek can be done throughout the year.  March is spring and October is autumn in Nepal.

Trekking to Everest basecamp starts at the height of 2900 meters above the sea level. Thus Everest base camp trekking trail does not get wet – even in the monsoon season. Monsoon in Nepal is from June to July. People trek to Everest in the monsoon as well. But to be honest; in monsoon the clouds might not make your trekking as expected. The mountains might be inside the clouds for most of the time.

However, monsoon being cloudy and winter being cold; the trekking trail of Everest base camp becomes really peaceful.

Major mountains

view from the kalapatthar top which is major attraction of everest basecamp trekking tour
Kalapatthar view point is near Gorakshep. In the picture small dots coming towards the summit are trekkers and the glacier you see is the Khumbu Glacier. And on the left side of the infinite mountain range see in the image lies Mt Everest and its base camp – Everest basecamp

Trekkers walk by the mountains in Everest basecamp trekking. So the range of the mountains is close but still very wide. However, from the top of Kalapatthar, the mountain view is incredible – more than you can imagine and have seen in the pictures.

You will see 100sā€™ of mountains during the Everest BaseCamp Trekking, and Mt. Everest, Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Lotse, Mt. Changaste, Mt. Pumori, Mt. Amadablam, Mt. Kangtega, Mt. KusumKangeru, Mt. Thamsherku, Mt. Kongde, Mt. Chumbu, Mt. Lobuche, Mt. Taboche, and Mt. Cholatse are commonly pointed out and named by your guide.
