Nar Phu Valley
Nar and Phu are 2 different village development committees in Manang District in the Gandaki Zone of northern Nepal. In the 2011 Nepal census it had a population of 176 in Phu and 362 people in Nar village, living in 122 individual households. Chame Rural Municipality is headquarter of both of these villages behind the mountains.

From Koto trekkers take right turn to enter this restricted trekking route in Annapurna Himalaya range. Koto is a common trekking destination of Narphu valley trek as well as Annapurna circuit trek or Tilicho lake trek.
The trekking route is famous for 2 major villages as Nar and Phu as discussed. These are villages isolated in the Annapurna region. Ancient manni walls with beautiful and antique stone carving, chhortens with stone scripts, gates of the village and the landscape of the region has been attracting trekker in the region.
After Annapurna circuit developed into trekking route as thorong la pass circuit trekking – this village very near to Annapurna range but on the other side of the hill became isolated and still untouched. The village of Nar and Phu still preserves the antique culture and tradition.
Narphu valley trek is restricted region and need special permit to trek through them but these trekking trails connects with Annapurna circuit trekking route at Manang or Braka. Narphu valley trekking trail is also a gateway to chulu peak climbing.
Accommodation in Narphu valley trek is basic but camping is not necessary. Homestays, lodges are basic but adequate in the route. Trekking trail is mostly by the side of river and into the jungle. But once we get to the no tree line zone the landscape of narphu valley is completely different as it lies in the semi rain shadow zone.

Expedition below 8000 Meters
Among thousands of mountains in the Nepalese himalaya, there are many peaks above 7000 meters and are still not that technical.

Expedition refers to climbing snow peak mountains with a complete climbing gear. Use of supplemental oxygen might not be mandatory in the expeditions below 8k. However the climbing crew will have to take supplementary oxygen for climbings which rises above 7000 meters, already.
In general, expedition below 8000 are done; so as to acclimatize for bigger expeditions. Bigger expeditions like Mt Everest expedition are once in a lifetime goal of many people.
