Why not to trek Dudh Kunda in the monsoon? Because these months are supposed to have all day rain. And to trek in the rainy season in the off the beaten trail is not fun. And also this is a camping trek so accommodation will not be comfortable. Wet body and sleeping in the small tents will not be fun rather a challenge, if you want to accept. And more importantly – Monsoon season is supposed to have clouded sky for most of day light. Thus you might not be able to see what you have expected to see in Dudh Kunda Trekking.

But Still in Monsoon, Dudh kunda lake observers a big festival. The festival is called janai purnima and is celebrated among Hindu as well as Buddhist Community. This lake is thus called a holy lake.

Why not to trek in the winter? Camping trek in the winter is supposeingly less fun than in the mentioned good season to trek to Dudh Kunda. Winter days will have clear sky and temperature will be mild and favorable. But the nights and morning (before sun rise); the temperature will be too much cold. Cold is the only reason for winter to be unfavorable month for Trekking to Dudh Kunda lake. In winter – you will be able to see the frozen lake of Dudh Kunda – whoich you will not get to see in other season trek to Dudh Kunda lake.

The region is dominated by Chettri, who are known as the brave folks Gurkhas in Anglo – Nepal War, whereas Rai and Tamang and Sherpa are famous as Gurkha’s in British, Singapore, HongKong security forces and Indian Army force.

This milky pond is holy place for both Hindu and Buddhist. Arrival at Kathmandu international airport, our company representative will assist you to transfer to your hotel.Tonight Dudh kunda trekking briefing by your guide.

Day 2 :

Fly from Kathmandu to Phaplu and trekking to Ringmo.

• Altitude – 3660 meters
• Special – view of different rivers from bus and exploration of natural beauty
• Time – 35 minutes flight and 5/6 hours hike
• Activity – walking through rhododendron forest

35 minutes of flight from Kathmandu will take you to Phaplu. From Phaplu you will start your hike. The trail from Phaplu follows the pine and rhododendron forest to reach ringmo. You can also hear chirping of birds during the hike.

Day 3 :

Hike from Ringmo to Sarsar Beni

• Altitude – 3800 meters
• Special – View of mountains and wildlife
• Time – 5/6 hours
• Activity – Trekking through steepy trail

Starting to walk from above 1000 meters altitude might be difficult for you. Follow the guidelines from your guide to avoid the difficulties. Today you will be walking around 5 to 6 hours through steepy trail to reach to sarsar beni.

Day 4 :

Trekking from Sarsar Beni to Dudh Kunda (4560m), back to Sarsar Beni

• Altitude – 4560 meters
• Special – blue tinged water lake and dudh kunda itself
• Time – 10/12 hours
• Activity – Walking uphill and downhill while coming back

Today is the day you reach to dudh kunda. You will be amazed to see the beautiful dudh kunda lake. Along with dudh kunda lake the day offers you to view the snow capped himalayan peaks such as Numbur, karyalung and so on. Once you explore dudh kunda lake you will trek back to sarsar beni.

Day 5 :

Trek from Sarsar Beni to Junbesi

• Altitude – 2675 meters
• Special – panoramic view of Himalayas
• Time – 5/6 hours
• Activity – Trekking

5 to 6 hours of hike will take you to junbesi from sarsar beni. During the hike, you can get the close view of majestic mountains.

Day 6 :

Trek from Junbesi to Phaplu

• Altitude – 2413 meters
• Special – view of mountains and greenery
• Time – 10/12 hours
• Activity – Trekking

From junbesi you will hike back to Phaplu. Next morning you will be heading back to capital; Kathmandu.

Day 7 :

Fly from Phaplu to Kathmandu international airport, Hotel (B/B)

• Altitude – 1380 meters
• Special – Scenic view from the plane
• Time – 35 minutes
• Activity – Flying in plane

35 minutes of flight from Phaplu will take back you to Kathmandu. During the flight you can get the scenic view of greenery and mountains.

Day 8 :

We will drop you to TIA for your final departure.
