Ganesh Himal Base Camp Trekking

18 Days

Ganesh Himal basecamp trek follows the middle path in between Langtang trekking and Annapurna trekking region.  Since this is one of the base camp trekking, it demands high trekking experience and a stable physique with good walking stamina for the trek.

Ganesh Himal Base Camp Trekking
The Ganesh Himal Trek is a relatively lesser-known trekking route in Nepal, offering a remote and off-the-beaten-path experience in the Ganesh Himal region.

Ganesh Himal basecamp trek mainly offers a close & wide view of Mt Ganesh Himal V, Ganesh Himal II, Langtang Li Rung (7,225m) and Paldor peak. Apart from these towering peaks, trekkers can explore more than 35 other named peaks in this trail and more unnamed mountains capped with snow.

Ganesh Himal is named after a famous god from Hindu religion. If you remember any of the gods from Hinduism, one with an elephant trunk is called God Gonesh and the mountain is named after him. Or if you recognize god Shiva, Ganesh is the son of God Shiva.

Trekking to Ganesh Himal basecamp is an off the beaten trail. Very few trekkers explore this area. Trekking to basecamp & walking through the unexplored villages of Nepal will surely make Ganesh Himal trekking, the best trekking in Nepal.

Before the trek

You will have a short introduction about Nepal during a one day city tour at Kathmandu, before starting the trek. However, you can always customize this part of the trip.

We start a huge introduction of Nepal Himalaya after we start the trekking part. We drive to Salangkhu Khola in a tourist bus or Jeep (jeep if customized), as per the size of the group. Exploring varieties of unexplored villages, people & culture of those new surroundings. Video Gallery

Safety on the Trek

Since this is strenuous trekking in Ganesh Himal we have to pass altitude at around 5000m under our foot, & we make sure the entire trekking team is safe but surely adventurous. We have to take a day acclimatization rest at Gonga.

Acclimatization, rest, decent pace of trekking, trekking staff in an easy reach, open & friendly relationship to make you comfortable to share if anything goes wrong etc.. are some of our mantras for safe trekking to Ganesh Himal basecamp.

Ganesh Himal Base Camp Trekking photo
The Ganesh Himal Trek is less crowded compared to routes like the Everest Base Camp or Annapurna Circuit, providing a more peaceful and secluded trekking experience.

During the trekking our trail crossed many rivers and walked through river valleys like Laba, Budigandaki. Our experienced guides will make sure that you will get all the needed information, you can ask them as per any of your concerns.

At the end of Ganesh Himal Basecamp trek we conclude our trek with a journey to historic Gorkha. Gorkha Bazaar is one of the famous tour destinations in Nepal. This place is famous because there is a palace of King Prithivi Narayan shah. Prithivi is that king who conquered small states of 22 & 24 as a single unit (present) Nepal.

As this is a typical village trek, we will walk through the local villages. If you can trek in the festival; surely you will explore the deep side of Nepalese culture and festivals in remote Nepal, more than just nature and wilderness, during this basecamp trek.
