Upper Mustang trek with YaraGhara Detailed itinerary

Day 1 :
Day 01-Arrival in Kathmandu.

Today; we meet in Kathmandu. A short briefing about the trip. Accommodation and meals on your own. We can arrange if you ask us to help you. Airport pick up can be arranged if you want us to pick you. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 2 :
Kathmandu Sightseeing and Get permit for the Trek

Today, we will get your upper mustang trekking permits. You could do trekking preparation or you have choice to visit ancient old temples in Kathmandu. In the evening; Nepalgram's manager will introduce your guide and final brief about your trip for next day departure. overnight in Kathmandu. Accommodation and meals on your own.

Day 3 :
Day 03: Drive to Pokhara (Pokhara sightseeing or rest and relax in Pokhara.)
Shuttle from your hotel in Kathmandu and take a drive to Pokhara. Your guide will accompany you from this day. You have choice to relax in Pokhara or have a sightseeing or walk around beautiful Phewa Lake. Overnight in Pokhara. Accommodation included today in Pokhara. Meals on your own.
Day 4 :
Day 04 : Jeep ride to Kagbeni from pokhara
Even if you plan to fly, you may end up needing to go by road if flights are canceled. The road between Pokhara and Jomsom was only constructed a few years ago, and is still not much more than a dirt track. The journey takes a minimum of eight hours, and then another hour from Jomsom to Kagbeni. It often takes longer if there are accidents or landslides on route. The last section to Kagbeni isn't entirely road. The overland route to Kagbeni is not comfortable, but the most comfortable way is to take a private Jeep. They're the safest overland option, and you can stop when you need. Public buses are not recommended.
Day 5 :
Day 05 : Trek to Chhusang
We today pass all the way through a vertical ridge of hills which offers some very well views of the lush hills. Then we move to Tetang village which lies between two hills and is identified as the upper village of Chhusang. We stay overnight at guest house in Chhusang.
Day 6 :
Day 06 : Trek to Syangboche from Chhusang
We leave Chhusang, we will start our trek to Shyangboche. We come across the passes like Taklam La, Yemdo pass, Baga La and Dzong La. You will be trekking passing through arresting communities of Yemdo, Samar and Bhona. Then, we enter Shyangboche.
Day 7 :
Day 07 : Trek to Gheling from syangboche
As all dry areas of Mustang, most of the houses on the way to Gheling from syangboche are made of mud, thatched-roof stones, and a combination of mud and pebbles. After walking for 5 hours, you will arrive at Gheling. We will stay overnight at the guest house there.
Day 8 :
Day 08 : : Trek to Ghap from gheling
Today, you trek to Ghap from Gheling. Overnight will be spent at guest house in gheling.
Day 9 :
Day 09: Trek to Tsarang via Ghekar
The splendid views of the landscape and the gentle curve of the north dissimilar to the uneven mountain gorge in the east and west are attractive part of the trek. We walk for around 5 hours which brings us to Tsarang, a large broaden village occupied by the people of buddhist, actually of Tibetan origin. The aged monastery and the adjacent Gumba are supposed to be some 500 years old and surrounded by some of the best religious wall paintings. Also after some hours walk we will get the view of lo ghekar.
Day 10 :
Day 10 : Trek to Lo Mangthang from Tsarang
On this day, we trek to Lo Mangthang, the capital region of Mustang. The 300 meters long and 150 meters broad wall has sheltered the region against robbers and the brutal winds. The small area of Lo-Mangthang is occupied by more than a 1000 inhabitants whose houses are connected by fine rope stone lanes. We will have our overnight here.
Day 11 :
Day 11 : Jeep tour and acclimatization at lo manthang
Today we have a rest day in Lo Mangthang, we will walk around Lo Mangthang whole day and visit king's palace, low caste settlements, monasteries, herbal medical school and many more.
Day 12 :
Day 12 : Trek to lo Mathang to dhi
In the walled city, the houses stand against one another in a line to from small alley sometime feels tunnel, if you have no idea you will lose end in that passes-ways. Traditionally, built their mud houses with flat roofs white washed painted outside and monasteries with red. . Local from here, people grow wheat, barley buck- wheat and some potatoes. Lo-pa people like the business they want to do some business from Tibet like Chinese goods. During the winter, the Lo-Pa people come down to lower part like to Pokhara. There temperature falls in minus in winter. This day we will have visit to ChodeGumba, JampaLhakhang, Thubchen Gumba& King’s palace and around. Do not forget to take with your head light because monasteries and caves will be dark or sometime light does not work properly.
Day 13 :
Day 13 : A trek to Yara village from Dhi
At this time you will be able to see the meadows of the farming field nearby river side. By crossing the Kaligandakiriver follow a path along the left bank of river side to Yara. From there in the dry season, the trail follows the riverbed but in the monsoon up the hills to a final steep is climbed to the top. It looks a natural sandy castle in front of you when just you are top on the Yara hills. Some places you will find a kind of salty dust like mineral on the hill. There will be lodge for the overnight at hotel.
Day 14 :
Day 14: From Yara village to Ghara Village and Explore LURI GOMbA& BACK TO ghara for overnight
Today we head down to LuriGompa from yaravilllage which was established in the thirteenth century, it is also known as Kagyukpa cave monastery. There are brilliant composed lama’s books discovered here. The course proceeds up to DuyungKhola which runs from the DamodarKund. This spot is additionally popular for Hindu explorers. The headwater is a territory of land from where the water runs down into the Kali Gandaki River. This spot is popular for dark ammonite fossils discovered hereabouts. Hindus and Buddhists gather these fossils to adore in their conviction that it is the encapsulation of God Vishnu. Overnight at the ghara’s teahouse & breakfast, lunch, and supper included.
Day 15 :
Day 15: From Ghara to DhiGaon via Tashi Cave Excursion
Our walk towards the dhi begins from the ghara after having launch. In dhi, we will explore more monasteries, Gumbas and Villages. Also we will have a cave excursion at tashi after a certain walk from dhigaon. We will spend a overnight at Ghara where every foods and accommodation will be done at the lodge.
Day 16 :
Day 16: From Dhi to Tsharang
After lunch, you'll head down the valley towards Tsarang, whose views you'll enjoy along the way. You'll cross the river and pass through a stunning chorten as you make your way up into the old town of Tsarang. In this large village, built on top of the TsarangKhola canyon, you'll find stone walls separating the houses and forming tunnel-like paths, with willow trees and an irrigation ditch, its own hydro-electric plant and quite a few guesthouses.The village is dominated by the huge, five-story TsarangDzong, a Tibetan-styled fortified palace constructed in 1378; the large, ochre-hued TsarangGompa is said to have the greatest library in Lo. The dzong has a wonderful, old prayer room with a gold-printed prayer book and a fascinating array of statues, thankas and large Buddha paintings. Legend has it that the withered 500-year-old hand of the palace's master architect is there!
Day 17 :
Day 17:Trek to Syangboche
We start our trek early to avoid strong winds and descend for the most part of the trek. Our trail passes through a dry plateau and fields before reaching Syangmochen. The walk can be relatively difficult as we are most likely to experience strong winds on our face, but we still get good views of Dhaulagiri and Nilgiri mountains. We can tour the village around the evening. Overnight in syangboche.
Day 18 :
Day 18:Syanbochen to Chele
Trek duration: 5-6 Hours First climb up to Taklam La (3640m) and reach to Samar village, after that you go to little bit down to small river then again climb down to Bhena La Pass (3830m) and 20 minute walk to Bhena (your lunch place) after lunch, we pass Yamdala (4010m) and up to chele then stay overnight at Lodge. In the afternoon, you will explore in Chungsi Cave. From Samar, you have option to go to chele via Chungisi Cave.
Day 19 :
Day 19: Chele to Kagbeni
Trek duration: 5-6 Hours After breakfast, check your special permit in Kagbeni (kagbeni has main gate of upper mustang) and then only you can enter to Upper mustang gate then continue walking with beautiful scenery and river bank of Kali Gandaki from chele. Then we stay overnight at Lodge in Kagbeni.
Day 20 :
Day 20: Pokhara to Kathmandu
It is time to bid farewell to the Pokhara valley and take a bus ride back to the Kathmandu valley. You can enjoy the beautiful landscapes, river valleys and clear sky through the window of the bus before reaching the city. This trip lets you enjoy all the aspects of the Mustang. The visitors can indulge themselves in the beautiful and unique culture of the Himalayas and try the local cuisine and their distinct liquors.
Day 21 :
Day 21: Farewell/Departure
Approximately 3 hours before your scheduled flight, a representative from Nepalgram Team will bid you farewell after taking you to the International airport.
