This short hike starts from Chisapani to Nagarkot which allows you to walk with the immense range of the Langtang Himalayan range and arrive at one of the famous tourist place i.e. Nagarkot. The Chisapani and Nagarkot both are the best view points to see the mountains peak of the Langtang range. From here you can see Ganesh Himal, Langtang, Langtang Lirung, GauriShankar, Dorje Lakpa, Jugal Himal and many other peaks. The hilly landscapes are more greenery and forestry so you can enjoy the perfect landscape with the green and white at the end.

Where does Chisapani Nagarkot Hike Begins?
The hiking starts from Sundarijal after a one and half hour drive from Kathmandu. Sundarijal is a famous visiting site and a busy picnic spot with an eye pleasing waterfall. Then the hike heads to the Chisapani village, which is a mixed settlement of Gurung, Sherpa and Brahmins. It is enclosed with rocky landscape and traditional houses.
On the way, you will be walking in a Shivapuri watershed and Wildlife reserve. This reserve offers rich insight into the culture; the lifestyle, and tradition of the locals living there. You can also get the best view of mountains like Mount Manaslu, Ganesh Himal ranges, Mt Dorje Lakpa in the Langtang range, Mt Gaurishanker and many other unnamed peaks.
Similarly, the trail continues to Nagarkot from Chisapani. You will be hiking towards Nagarkot from Chisapani which is considered to be the favorite hill station in Nepal. It is a perfect place for mesmerizing sunrise and sunset views over the Everest, Langtang, Annapurna and Dhaulagiri Himalayan range.
After getting the view from Nagarkot you will get back to famous Bhaktapur city which will take around half an hour to drive. Bhaktapur is a famous Newar village full of cultural and archaeological monuments. You will be the sightseeing the UNESCO world heritage site i.e. Bhaktapur Durbar Square. After sightseeing you will be driving back to Kathmandu.
Nagarkot
Nagarkot is a famous place to view the towering mountain ranges along with sunrise and sunset. It is situated at an elevation of 2175 meters and is located 35 km east from Kathmandu. If the weather is clear, one can see great views of the Himalayas including Annapurna, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, Langtang, Dorje Lakpa and GauriShankar. The view from Nagarkot is like the view you get from a mountain flight.
Once the sun begins to rise from the back of the Himalayas, it looks so beautiful as the mountain changes its colour. It is eye – catchy to watch the view of both sunrise and sunrise with the backdrop of mountain ranges. However, to see the sunrise, it is compulsory for you to wake up at 5 o’clock in the morning.

- Day 1 – Short drive Kathmandu – Sundarijal and trek to Chisapani; 2230m, 6 hours
- Day 2 – Start hiking from Chisapani to Nagarkot via Chauki Vanjang. At the evening watch sunset; 2175m, 6 hours
- Day 3 – Hike down to Bhaktapur via Telkot and Bhaktapur sightseeing and drive back to Kathmandu; 1400m, 6 hours
