A hidden gem – Tsum valley is one of the world’s remote Himalayan valleys, bordering Tibet. Due to its remoteness, this sacred valley and its people have been bypassed by development for centuries, opening for trekking only in 2008. As a result, the unique culture of this valley has remained intact which can still be witnessed in Tsum valley trek. There are historic monasteries, Rachel Gompa and Mu Gompa nestled in picturesque valleys.
Major Attraction of Manaslu Tsum Valley Trek
Manaslu Tsum Valley Trek is in one of the valleys in Nepal which is very far from the city and hazards of the crowds. As stated by my friend from Tsum valley, this is one of the beautiful lands which are unchanged from years ago to till today. Tsum valley trekking can be done combining with Manaslu circuit Trek, which in combination becomes Manaslu Tsum Valley Trek.
It is said that “Yeti“, “A Snowman” is repeatedly seen in this area of Tsum Valley, thus this trail is famous and rising up with popularity. Trekkers get glances of Mt. Manaslu, Bouddha, Himchuli, Ganesh, Singri, Tsum Valley and many other unnamed Himalayas.
Apart from the stunning Himalaya this trail also comprises the most stunning landscape in the hidden world. Tsum valley is a virgin destination located at the inner mountain behind the towering hills. One of the best destinations for those who love walking in a less crowded area is Tsum valley.
Culture and Local Tradition
The Buddhist hidden valley is the residence of many fests like Lhosar, Dhacyhang, Saka Dawa, Fanning & many others. This trail comprises the dominance of Buddhist people, thus trekking to this secret land makes trekkers see new life, new people and their antique tradition, unique culture and devotion to Buddha.
Very kind people on the trail do not hesitate to get involved with you and well- come to their home if you want. During the trek, we reach a place called Tato pani where we take showers in natural hot water. Here “tato” means “hot” and “pani” means “water in Nepal”. Below is the suggested itinerary for trekking to Tsum valley which can be customized as per your vacation, contact us for a combined itinerary.
Best Season for Tsum valley Trek
Like other trekking regions in Nepal; Tsum valley trek is suitable in autumn and Spring. Autumn = September, October, November whereas, Spring = March, April & May.
However, Tsum valley has enough villages and tea houses along the trekking route to trek in other seasons as well. Trekking in monsoon is not recommended as there are numerous chances of landslides along the trekking route.
Trekking to Manaslu in winter is completely fine if you can ignore the temperature to negative 10 degree Celsius.
