Situated right at the foot of the Thorong La pass, this temple has holiness and history. People also do trekking till this point from Poonhill side and this is known as Pilgrimage trekking trail. Thousands of

Hindus & Buddists come to visit this sacred Temple. Within Hinduism, it is called Mukti Kshetra (mokshya Chhetra), which literally means the “place of liberation” or Enlightenment Area.

The ancient name of this place before Buddhist origin is Thiru Saligramam (for Hindus’). The Buddhists call it Chumig Gyatsa, which in Tibetan means “Hundred Waters”.
