Kanchenjunga is the third highest mountain in the world with an elevation of 8,586 m (28,169 ft). And the basecamp of this mountain is at 5160 meter above the sea level. Trekking trail of Kanchenjunga base camp is along the Tamor River, one of the major river of Nepal and Tista River in boarder of Nepal – India.

Kanchenjunga was assumed to be the highest mountain in the world until 1852 before Everest was measured and after Dhaulagiri was measure lower than Mt Kanchenjunga. 3rd highest mountain of the world Kanchenjunga was first climbed on 25 May 1955 by of a British expedition. Climbing Kanchenjunga is never stepped on its summit as from the time when Sikkim used to be a kingdom itself (before invasion by India), climbers stop few meters below the summit as stepping on top of holy mountain of is considered sinful.

Basecamp is conserved inside the conservation area and the lush green forest with varieties of flora and fauna is major beauty along with the snowcapped mountain range and traditional villages. Among thousands of mountains in the Nepalese himalaya, there are many peaks above 7000 meters and are still not that technical.

Expedition refers to climbing snow peak mountains with a complete climbing gear. Use of supplemental oxygen might not be mandatory in the expeditions below 8k. However the climbing crew will have to take supplementary oxygen for climbings which rises above 7000 meters, already.
