Phaplu Everest basecamp Trek altitude

Trekkers travel from the lowlands to high elevations on the Phaplu to Everest Base Camp Trek, passing through a number of distinct altitude zones.

The trek’s highest point is at the Kalaptthar, which is at an elevation of 5,545 meters, whereas the walk begins in Phaplu at an elevation of 2,400 meters (7,874 feet) (17,598 feet).

The main settlement in the Solu-Khumbu region, Namche Bazaar, which is situated at an elevation of 3,440 meters, is along the route at 11,286 feet. It’s crucial to remember Namche acclimatization since altitude sickness is a prevalent worry. hikers should give enough time for acclimation to the high altitudes.

Thus for acclimatization during everest basecamp trek from Phaplu – there are no other best location then Namche village for the first acclimatization in 3000 meters check point. Altitude sickness can be reduced by gradual climb, good hydration, and taking rest days as necessary.

It is also possible and loved by those who can resist cold to go everest base camp trekking starting at Phaplu – in the winter (December to February). Although, winter trekking to ebc can be more difficult because the trails can get snow, ice and the weather can get very cold.

Rain during the monsoon season (June to August) can make it challenging to walk on the slippery paths and clouds also reduce visibility.

Difficulty of Phaplu everest basecamp trek

One of the world’s highest trekking regions is Everest base camp trekking region. The low air pressure and low oxygen levels are caused by the high altitude. It is believed to have 50% oxygen in Everest base camp. Altitude sickness is a constant risk in high altitude. But AMS alone is not the determining factor for trekking difficulty. In addition, you will have to walk for 5 to 6 hours on a rough trail that changes elevation frequently. There are other trekking routes as Chola pass route which need more of endurance than acclimatized itinerary for the trekking.

You may find yourself physically and psychologically challenged by the steep climbs required by some trails in everest region. But trekking to everest basecamp from phaplu is less difficult. It is because, trek starts low and gives you enough time to relax with changed environment. Due to the low temperatures and the dry dust, trekkers in the higher Khumbu region run the danger of contracting the “Khumbu cough”. This cough is very normal to have.

During the this phaplu ebc trek, there is no need for technical climbing. Having said that, the trekkers with normal fitness level can easily complete phaplu to everest basecamp trek.
