Day 01: We drive from Kathmandu to syprubensi on Jeep.

All of us gathered at the bus station at Kathmandu to travel towards Syaprubensi but there were not any tickets available for 5 more people decided at the last minute.

So, we decided to take a jeep for us. Driving on the jeep for 6 hours, making many pauses was really amazing. Our driver was very kind to us that he allowed us to stop on the way for photos of mountain scenery. And another memorable thing is Dal Bhaat on the way at Rasuwa Bazzar. Dal Bhat was our lunch – Dalbhat is traditional meal of Nepal.

langtang valley syaprbesi
Syabrubesi is the gateway to the Langtang region, renowned for its stunning mountain scenery, diverse landscapes, and rich cultural heritage.

Many Police checking points and army check post on the way was really crazy. But it was for the security of country’s people and trekkers and the main reason is because we were on the way to Tibet Boarder and on the entrance of Langtang National Park, home of endangered Red Panda & snow leopard.

After 6 hours’ drive, we reached syaprubensi at 1pm, all with tired leg but fresh mind, indeed.

Day 02: After a completely refreshing day at Syaprubensi we initiated our trekking to Lama Hotel.

Waking up early at six in the morning, we started our trekking early at 6; 30am right after breakfast. The intention of walking early was to pass all the uphill before sun comes to strike on our head badly.

After 4 hours walking on uphill and downhill, all the way from the bank of river, we reached Lama hotel and a cool place inside jungle. Opposite of lama hotel we saw many unnamed Himalayas which gave us feeling of Himalayan life in the first day of trekking to Langtang valley.

Day 03: Lama Hotel to Langtang valley

When we started our trekking from lama hotel to Langtang valley it was 7am in the middle of Langtang national park jungle. Before sun set, we were near to Langtang valley.

I remember that we shouted for the scenery of waterfall seen in distance, at some few stops. we saw Langtang village and the surrounding mountains before we reached the village of famous Langtang trail, “Langtang village” itself.

langtang valley valley
The Langtang Valley is surrounded by towering snow-capped peaks, including Langtang Lirung (7,227 meters), Dorje Lakpa (6,966 meters), and Gangchenpo (6,387 meters).

On the route to Langtang after Thangshyap village, the landscape was unbelievable and the water falling from the high mountain, right beneath the Mt Langtang lirung was stunning. No tree line starts after Thyangshyap village, and the scenery looks awesome.

All 360 degree of Himalayas around our head was really unexpected. Walking on the valley with waterfalls all around the natural walls of Langtang valley and snow-capped mountains atop was really beautiful.

Walking slowly, making numerous pauses; we reached to our destination, Langtang village. One of the awesome places, I ever seen in my life, narrow river valley with towering mountains, Langtang region was beautiful.

But the irony is that life of people living there is not the best. Reality that I saw in the kinds of famous trekking trails of Nepal.

Day 04: Langtang to Kyangin Gompa

Guide Nayran dai was nice to his group. So, we started at 9am in the morning, walking along the river valley, very near to the Langtang River and watching the approaching view of mountains was amazing on Langtang village to kyanjing village hiking route.

When we took rest for water, chocolates or any breaks gave us clear view of mountains on any direction of the valley, we were like tiny creatures in the middle of the mountains. A complete 360-degree range of the Himalaya was lovely and overwhelming circling around us. The moment was more than just beautiful and all of us were being happy to be there.

langtang valley kyanjin gompa
Kyanjin Gompa is a sacred site for Buddhists and a center for religious and spiritual activities in the Langtang Valley.

Langtang village was amazing in itself, remembering the night we had in Langtang village was just amazing.

This hiking route from Langtang valley to Kyanji Gompa was another most memorable part of the trek which probably lasts lifetime.

Langtang village was second last village on the lap of the mountains and today we were walking towards the last village of Langtang valley trekking route, which was easy & completely amazing.

We met very few local people on the way and many trekkers passing by were saying Namaste, hello, how are you, blah blah blah… Smiling faces of people returning back from kyanjing village and surrounding of no tree zone and white mountains was mesmerizing with full of curiosity.

After walking for 4 hours in easy terrain (almost flat), we saw a village just close by many Glaciers. Narayna dai pointed his group and called the village as Kyanjing Gompa village. This is what we were trekking towards.

And on arrival at Kyanjing village we visited local cheese factory and bought two kg of Cheese, which we were utilizing for excursion climbing to Tsergu ri at 5000 meters, the next day.

It’s more than amazing for us to be there at small village of kyanjing, surrounded by more than dozens of mountains all around and sun getting reflected back from those White Mountains to the small village where we were having beer. Sunset on Mt Langtang was stunning.

Day 05: Exploring day; climbing Tsergu Ri or Kyanji ri – we chose Tsergu ri (the highest one)

Among these two different viewpoints or peaks of Langtang valley trek, either one can be summited by trekkers for the great view of mountains, very close enough.

The selection is done looking at the fitness level.

Those who are very fine and can make adventure through smiling faces can go for Tsergu ri at 5000 meters. And mild trekkers, who want to avoid hard walking uphill but wish to get similar view as Tsergu ri can choose Kyanjing Ri at 4800 meters.

langtang valley kyanjin ri
Kyanjin Ri, also known as Kyanjin Ri Peak or Kyanjin Peak, is another prominent viewpoint located near Kyanjin Gompa in the Langtang Valley.

We all were boys of 25-35, so we choose Tsergu Ri 4988m high. Tshergu ri is an amazing destination from where we can see wide mountain range, including some mountains just in the boarder of the Nepal & Tibet.

Basically, Tsergu ri is mountain top, from where we can see snow-capped mountains from both Nepal and Tibet.

Day 06: End of the trip with helicopter return

Way back of Langtang trekking routes normally goes back on the same trail we have taken to hike up here.

But we flew directly from Kyangjing Gompa to Kathmandu by helicopter on, the same day. Lucky me as a first timer and unlucky who broke his leg.

Since one of our friends from the group was having problem with his knee, it got worse on the way down from Tserguri climb.

And thus, we came back to Kathmandu via helicopter with a scenic view of Langtang range of Nepal Himalaya; interestingly the pilot was taking a small tour around the Langtang Himalaya range, to oversee Ganja La pass trekking trail.

Motive of this article is to help you to find the description of Langtang Valley Trek and to share my experience, so that you can trek to Langtang valley even without guide (me), but still to take a local guide makes a lot of difference in your once in a lifetime experience.
