Panchpokhari trekking blog – an experience of trekking guide in his recce trip
Panchpokhari is religious place that mostly ethnic people of Kathmandu – newar community visit on occasion of janai purnima. Panchpokhari is located at the sindupalchok district.
I did Panchpokhari Trekking in monsoon which is so adventurous and exciting. Panchpokhari trekking Blog is about our excursion and reconnaissance trip filled with our monsoon adventure with many findings and joy.

The 1st Day
The first day we gather at Surybinayak Bhaktapur and leave for Chautara by bus at 7am. After 5 hrs bus journey, we reached Chautara Bus Park.
Our trek started from Chautara football ground. We walked about eight hours from Chautara Syavle and Syavle Phurse. The road from Chautara to Phurse is village vehicle road but do not run during the rainy season. Road was muddy, that vehicle cannot pass through various sections. Our trek becomes one day longer due to monsoon and we had to walk whole day to reach Phurse.
Phurse is situated at the altitude of 2000m, we get very warm hospitality in Phurse village. There are around three guest house.
Our trek first day ends at Phurse.

Second Day in Panchpokhari Trekking Blog
Second day of Panchpokhari trekking was more adventurous. We didn’t have any maps to reach Panchpokhari but there were direction sign in most of the place.
After breakfast at Phurse we begin our second day trek. Breakfast during the trekking was potato and sattu, sattu is also called Nepali Horlicks, by locals. That gave us the whole day energy.
From Phurse entering to Langtang national park was a nice exploration of nature.
Those greenery and waterfall sounds during walking in forest was so mesmerizing.

After 4 hrs of walk we reached at top of forest hill. At that hill top inside the forest, there was nothing but a Yak shed and few locals with their cow and Yaks.
In the shed we rest and drink chaurigai /Nak milk. The milk was so tasty and reboots our energy to walk further.
We asked locals about the trekking trail to reach panchapokhari & with the information gathered we walked for10 hrs to we reach the Mesur. Mesur is a decent size of village but there is only one tea house, where traveler can to stay.
After walking 12hrs we were so tired and we decide to end the trek of 2nd day at Mesur.
For the chilling environment and to overcome the tiredness of 12 hours walk, we drank specailly prepared local alcohol that is called jhoikatte. Jhoikatte is specially treated local alcohol with butter and smoked rice.
Final day of trek to Panchpokhari trekking from Chautara
3rd day we wake up around 5:30 am and the morning view was awesome that made us forget the tiredness & last night hungover. It relaxes the mind as well.
After having breakfast our third day mission is to reach the Panchpokhari.
We start our trek at 6:00 am after drinking tea at the tea house and we thank them for their warm hospitality started trek towards our final destination to Panchpokhari.
After 3 hours of trekking that day, we reached Hille bhanyang. After having breakfast we walked for 4 hours and reach Nasimpati at around 12:00 am. We had our lunch at Nasimpati. It is junction of road to Melamchi and road to Chautara.
At Nisampati the trail of Panchpokhari coming from Melamchi side meets. Melamchi to Panchpokhari is even shorter than the one we did from Chautara side. Here we met may trekkers coming from short route of Panchpokhari trail with thier tired face and legs.
Though we are very near to Panchpokhari, we grab lunch at and relaxed in their lodge. Nasimpati has well managed lodge. Mostly of Tamang people lives here.
After lunch at Nasimpati, we walk towards Panchpokhari through difficult mountain ridges. After around two hours, we come across a hording board welcoming us to Panchpokhari Lake.

After hiking through the difficult mountain ridges we reached at the top of the mountain and took rest for some time to forget all the tiredness exchanging with the beauty at our sight. At that time, the only words that comes from within is wow.
We felt like, we were in heaven.
Those different colorful flower and pure blue color of sky made us feel that such we were in heavenly place exists with this splendid view of the surrounding mountains. At once the scenery made us so crazy that we forgot our tiredness and we started to take the photographs for future memory.
We decided to stay a night at Panchpokhari as there is one lodge open during this monsoon season. Monsoon season is reagrded as the low season for trekking in Nepal. So as the winter season trek is Nepal.
While exploring, we found silalekh/stone script:- in the stone script there is story that says, how the Panchpokhari became religious place.
The Return
After having good night nap, we started the journey with beautiful memories. Spending enough time near to the stars and the White Mountains, we started descend, to Chautara Bazaar. Trekking to Panchpokhari was concluded with bus back to our home at Kathmandu.
