Upper Dolpo is situated in Nepal’s Dolpa District, which is in the countries far western.
The months of September through November and March through May are ideal for Upper Dolpo and Camping Treks since they are dry and temperately warm and also clear weather.
A good level of physical fitness and endurance are needed for the strenuous Upper Dolpo and Camping Trek. Steep climbs and descents, hiking at a high altitude, and camping in wilderness locations are all part of the expedition.
It takes 26 days to complete the Upper Dolpo and Camping Trek, which travels 240 kilometers.
The Upper Dolpo and Camping Trek is a restricted area trek, thus you will need a special permit to complete it. Only a certified trekking agency may receive the permit.
The Kang La Pass, which rises 5,360 meters above sea level, is the highest point on the Upper Dolpo and Camping Trek.
There are no lodges or teahouses along the walking path because Upper Dolpo is an isolated and secluded region. Therefore, the only option for lodging during the trek is camping.
Warm clothing, a sleeping bag, a sturdy backpack, trekking poles, a water bottle, sunscreen, sunglasses, a cap, and a first aid kit are all things you should bring. As you will be trekking with your own backpack, it is advisable to pack lightly.
Because the Upper Dolpo and Camping Trek is a restricted area trek and a special permit is needed to enter the area, it is not possible to complete the trek alone. To complete the walk safely, additional equipment for camping and a support group are needed.

Best Time to Trek Upper Dolpo
Like Upper Mustang trek, the upper Dolpo is also a monsoon season trek. If you are looking forward to Upper Dolpo trekking, do not trek in the winter, apart from winter you can sign up for any time throughout the year.
