The spring (March to June) and fall (September to December) are the finest seasons for hiking in Helambu. These seasons offer stunning sights and a reasonable temperature.
A TIMS (Trekkers’ Information Management System) card is required, and you may get one in Kathmandu or at the start of the trek. Additionally, there is a charge for the entry pass to Shivapuri National Park.
The best thing we can do to get ready for the walk is to engage in regular activity like jogging. For people who have prior experience walking or hiking in a high altitude environment, the Helambu climb is relatively simpler.
You will be offered Nepalese, Tibetan, and the more popular continental and Indian cuisines while you are hiking. Sometimes dishes on the menu might not be offered.
Just northeast of the Kathmandu Valley, in Nepal, is the Helambu Hike, a well-known hiking path. The walk passes through the lovely Helambu region, which is well-known for its picturesque mountain views, verdant forests, and traditional Sherpa communities.
Depending on your pace and schedule, the Helambu Hike can be finished in 5 days.
No, hiring a guide is not required for the Helambu Hike. There are numerous guesthouses and teahouses along the path, which is well-marked. However, if you have never gone trekking or are unfamiliar with the area, hiring a guide can be helpful.
Basic trekking supplies including durable hiking boots, warm clothing, a backpack, and a sleeping bag are required. You might also want to bring sunscreen, a hat, gloves, and a rain jacket. Bringing a first aid kit and a water filter system or purification tablets is an excellent idea.
Usually, the little village of Sundarijal, which is about an hour’s drive from Kathmandu, serves as the beginning point of the Helambu Hike. To get there, you can either hire a private vehicle or board a local bus.
