Known as one of the most diverse trekking routes in Nepal, the Round Annapurna Trek ascends 5416m before dropping down onto a high-altitude Tibetan plateau that takes you south along the Kali Gandaki river valley. This southern drop at 3000 meters is a perfect landscape like Tibet, called Mustang Nepal.
We walk through numerous villages, jungle, river valley; the world’s deepest Kali Gandaki gorge and keep towering mountains Annapurna I, II, III, IV rising from the deserted land to snowcapped tops. Annapurna I (8091 m) is the highest mountain before passing Thorong la and Dhaulagiri 8167 m to the west is the highest peak seen in this Round Annapurna Trek.

It is situated in the broad valley of the Marshyangdi River to the north of the Annapurna mountain range & has 5 minutes access to Glacial lake; Gangapurna.
The 5,416-metre Thorong La pass (1st known circuit trekking pass in Nepal) leads to Muktinath shrine and to the valley of the Gandaki River. To the north of Round Annapurna Trek, is the Chulu East peak of 6,584 m. Chulu west climbing is one of the nicest climbs of the region.
Muktinath Temple – Right after the Pass
Muktinath is a sacred place for both Hindus and Buddhist located in Muktinath Valley at an altitude of 3,710 meters. Situated right at the foot of the Thorong La pass, this temple has holiness and history. People also do trekking till this point from Poonhill side and this is known as Pilgrimage trekking trail. Thousands of
Hindus & Buddists come to visit this sacred Temple. Within Hinduism, it is called Mukti Kshetra (mokshya Chhetra), which literally means the “place of liberation” or Enlightenment Area.
The ancient name of this place before Buddhist origin is Thiru Saligramam (for Hindus’). The Buddhists call it Chumig Gyatsa, which in Tibetan means “Hundred Waters”.
For Tibetan Buddhists, Muktinath is a very important place of Dakinis, goddesses known as Sky Dancers. Buddhists believe that this is a place for achieving Nirvana.
