Best Time for Poon hill

The Poon Hill trek is open to trekkers all year round. It is just the question of getting there during the best seasons in the perfect weather for the excellent views. But to get the best of this trek, you should choose to trek during the peak seasons. The peak season is Spring and Autumn .

The best months you can trek are from March to May and from September to November. You, however, should pre-book your rooms on all of the night stops. The trails and tea houses will be busy with activity as it is the most preferred season.

If you are a person who wants to walk on a quiet trail on your own pace, you can choose the off season – winter or Monsoon. Winter in Nepal is cold and monsoon is rainy. Poon hill trail will be much emptier and so will the tea houses. You can choose among the tea houses you like after you get to the destinations, till the year 2017 AD.

You will have to carry a raincoat and a little extra clothing for these seasons because of the dramatic mountain weather. Also these seasons are for those who love flowers and bird watching and taking photographs of butterflies.
