From ‘Dingboche’ in opposite direction of Everest Base Camp trail, we can see a mountain like pyramid, this pyramid structured mountain called Island Peak. Normally South East Flank & South-West Ridge is the major route for ascending to this peak, the Island peak climbing route changes seasonally, however.
Usually the island peak base camp is at “Pareshaya Gyab” (5,087m) near Chhukung village.
