Visit the Samdo Peak if you are in Namche Bazar and have some leisure time for exploring new areas. You can reach within 15 to 30 minutes at this site from Namche Bazaar. The Samdo Peak is actually located in the Gorkha region of Manaslu conservation area and has a total elevation of 16985 ft which is significant for new hikers. Lodging and tent camping is used for accommodation by the visitors. You can reach there by private car, bus or jeep.

Autumn and Spring are the best seasons to visit Samdo Peak. Hiking of this mountain is quite easy as the ridges are moderate and do not present a challenging trek. It can be said that once a newcomer surmounts this peak, his confidence to go for other adventures will increase manifolds.

Samdo is a small Tibetan refugee village located at an altitude of around 3,875 meters (12,713 feet). It serves as a stopping point for trekkers before they cross the challenging Larke Pass (5,106 meters/16,752 feet) on the Manaslu Circuit Trek. The village offers basic accommodation in teahouses, where trekkers can rest, acclimatize, and enjoy the stunning mountain scenery.

While Samdo is not a peak, it serves as a crucial stopover for trekkers and climbers en route to higher elevations, including the challenging Larke Pass (5,106 meters/16,752 feet) on the Manaslu Circuit Trek. From Samdo, trekkers can enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding Himalayan peaks and acclimatize before continuing their journey.

The trail passes from Dhading Besi, Palpa Bhanjyang, Chandanthok, Majhgaun, Arughat, Jagat, Philim, Bihi, Namrung, Limi, Hungbugaun, and to the base camp of Samdo Peak, this route is 111.1 Km and the climbing route is 10.9 Km.
