We begin our Nepal trekking journey after breakfast at the hotel in Kathmandu. Road to Syaprubensi is counted as one of the fine road in Nepal, as this road connects Nepal with China via Kerung boarder. Driving through the river valley gives nice view of the villages and local activities.

Langtang Gosaikunda Trek starts at syapru Bensi towards narrow river valley (Langtang River) and stops at Lama Hotel. Lama hotel has access to Langtang River. We leave Kerung river valley behind from the beginning itself. While walking on different terrain of land, looking at natural formation of pristine landscape will certainly make your day worthy.
From today till the last day of the trekking you will explore village, stay at the local owned tea houses. There will be menu at every eating places from which you will be choosing your lunch dinner and breakfast, which i included if you buy our normal package. You will be following trekking guide, who helps you from choosing food to sleeping warm. You are free to decide on your own but listening to your guide is always wise. Your porter will be carrying your luggage where you need to carry a small bag-pack with drinking water, camera, sun screen and your daily usable stuff. Six hours hike from Lama Hotel to Langtang is on the side of river. Trekking will be inside the forest for most of the day, once we get to army check point at Ghoda Tabela the tree starts getting smaller. Today the hike starts from jungle and ends at no tree line. Langtang valley trek is regarded as beginners trekking trail but adding Gosaikunda trail with Langtang valley trek – this makes mid-level trekking. Thus, Langtang Gosaikunda trekking is not hard but not easy like Langtang valley trek alone.
The uphill towards the Lake and downhill afterwards are not easy walk of Langtang Gosaikunda trekking.
Average or Mid-level means – this trek is easy for active people and for office workers it will be easier if you do regular fitness exercise 2 months prior to your trekking to Langtang Gosaikunda.
Langtang Gosainkunda trek is 12 days walk. Including Nepal intro tour and your arrival and departure in Nepal – this will be 15 days trekking package. However – with one buffer day – Nepalgram has 16 days Langtang Gosainkunda trekking package.
Walking for 12 days – average walking hours is 7 hours. The trail is easy in Langtang valley section and gets harder towards the end around Gosainkunda Lake.
It is recommended to have a trekking guide for Langtang Gosainkunda trekking. The trail often goes through the villages and hence it is recommended to have a guide with you.
However – it not mandatory to take a trekking guide with you, as of restricted trekking routes of Nepal – like Manaslu, Kanchenjunga or upper mustang. Actually there are not any restricted trails around Langtang region of Nepali trekking trails.
Taking a trekking guide gives you freedom while trekking inside Langtang national park – makes you feel safe inside the dense jungles and guide will take care of your trek management along with take care in high altitudes.
As other trekking of Nepal – spring and autumn are the best season for Langtang Gosaikunda trekking. However – people do trek Gosainkunda Lake during the winter so as to see & walk on top of the frozen lake.
Winter trek to Langtang Gosaikunda is interesting but surely colder.
Trekking in monsoon is not recommended but people still do it.
Langtang valley trekking range from 1500 meters syapru to 3850 meters (Kyanjin Gompa). The altitude of destination in between changes by less than 800 meters per day.
Langtang village is at 3200 meters above the sea level. Langtang village used to be one of the largest village of the region before earthquake but now it is not as big as before but people are rebuilding.
Langtang region is protected region as Langtang national park. Red panda is endangered animal but can be seen in Langtang region.
Langtang region is connected with Tibet and has trading route from the past to present. Langtang region has lots of natural hot springs.
