General Information About 14 Days Upper Mustang trekking
Upper Mustang trekking is a popular trekking destination in Nepal that takes you through the hidden kingdom of Mustang, located in the north-central part of Nepal. The region was once an independent kingdom, and its isolation from the outside world has resulted in the preservation of its unique culture and traditions.
The trek starts from Jomsom and takes you through the Kali Gandaki valley, the world’s deepest gorge, before reaching the ancient capital of Mustang, Lo Manthang. Along the way, you’ll pass through beautiful landscapes, including barren deserts, deep gorges, and snow-capped mountains, and encounter the local people, who are of Tibetan origin.
The trek is moderately difficult, and trekkers need to be physically fit to tackle the steep terrain and high altitude. Altitude sickness is a potential risk, so it’s important to acclimatize properly and follow a gradual ascent.
Accommodation & Meals
As with other treks in Nepal, teahouses are available in Upper Mustang Trekking. Teahouses are simple houses, often the home of the family that runs them, and offer basic meals in a communal eating hall along with bedrooms, usually with two single beds.
