Bhaktapur a living museum
Before the Unification of Nepal, Nepal consisted of small kingdoms, and Durbar Squares are the most prominent remnants of those old kingdoms in Nepal.
All the Durbar Squares in the Kathmandu valley have a similar structure and architecture; they consist of temples, idols, open courts, and water fountains. The three most famous Durbar squares are the one in Kathmandu, Patan and Bhaktapur. The design used in the construction of the King’s palace (which durbar square? Patan?) And its ground with slates, is another eye catching view of squares.
