One can get buses from Old Buspark with a choice of either public or Super Express bus to Charikot. Araniko Express, GaurishankerYatayat, Sagarmatha Yatayat are the regular buses that depart from Kathmandu to Charikot every day. Super Express buses usually leave at 6 am in the morning, but local buses leave in 2-3 hours’ time interval.
Daily public buses go from Kathmandu to Charikot. It is, however, advised to inquire about the availability of buses and departure timings before starting the journey. It takes around five hours on a public bus to reach Charikot. The price range of a public bus from Kathmandu to Charikot is Rs.350-400/-. Once one reaches Charikot, you can find off-road jeeps that go to Kuri village. Jeeps regularly traverse in the tourist season. The road to Kuri village was built recently so the ride may get bumpy at times.
Super Express buses provide better convenience than public buses, but they are known to be notoriously punctual. So, if you arrive late then do not hope to catch the bus. It is recommended to reach the old bus park half an hour before the bus leaves. The ticket counter for Super Express is in the north-western corner of the bus park. Word of caution: The bus stops only once in the middle of the forest to allow passengers to relieve themselves then drops them off at Charikot, so it is a good idea to relieve oneself and be comfortable before boarding the bus.
If you are in an organized group, it’s better to arrange an off-road jeep from Kathmandu to Kuri village. There are no such jeep or bus counters in Kathmandu which go directly to Kuri village, so one has to rent a private jeep to reach directly to Kuri village.

Brief History about Kalinchowk
Since ancient times, the temple is situated on the top of the perilous hill. Kalinchowk is named after the goddess Kali which is related to power and destruction. It is believed that in Dwapar Yuga, Pandavas came here for meditation.
According to the myth, it is believed that Goddess Kali used to meditate in the top-hill of Kalinchowk on SumeruParvat. During the mediation, the evil power tried to win over Kali. After this, the war took place between goddess Kali and evils. During the war, Lord Shiva used his divine Trishuli (metal weapon), and the holy water originated from the dry land, which gave the power the lion of Goddess Kali. The evils could not stay-on in the mighty Goddess Kali and were killed by her during the war.
All the evils were killed, and their bodies were decayed to the place of Kuri, and the village was found stinky, and so, from the word Kuri the area is known to be a Kuri village; which means ‘shame.’
The “water-pond” in the top of Kalinchowk, it is believed to be holy and pure after showering and taking the water from the Kunda. From the religious treatises of Durga Puran, it was said that this is the place where the goddess Devi’s right arm was the downfall.
In this Kalinchowk Bhagwati pilgrims, they offer bells, Trishul, flowers, Agarbatti (incense sticks) ghee, and bangles, and chunari. Devotees come to this temple to take the holy water.which is given by adore of this temple. People have a great belief that their wishes come true after worshiping the goddess Devi with pure soul.
