08:00 am: Pick from your Hotel and drive to Godawari .
09:00 am – Start hike through the tropical thick forest for approx. 3 hour’s time. The reward of spectacular views after reaching Phulchwoki hill is breathtaking which makes you forget all the pain that you went through to reach here.
13:00 pm – Lunch on your own Arrangement. After lunch spending some time over there.
14:00 pm – Hike down to Godwari available restaurant here for lunch and drive back to Hotel.
Early in the morning, after breakfast, we will assemble at our office in Thamel. We will be driving for about 40 minutes in a private vehicle to reach the Godavari botanical garden.
On a clear day, from the peak of Phulchowki, you can see parts of Annapurna and Gaurishankar Ranges, along with spectacular views of Kathmandu valley. Atop the hill, you will also witness a communication tower used by television networks.
After that we will be back to the Kathmandu.

The starting point of the Godawari Phulchowki hike is Godawari Bus Stop. To get to Godawari, take a bus from Gongabu Bus Park to Satdobato first, and then look for a bus that goes to Godawari in Satdobato. The ride may be long and bumpy considering the heavy traffic and rough roads. Head south from the bus stop and start walking the first section of the trail, which is a black-topped road. The first 1.0km of the trail is asphalt and after that, the trail completely changes to a gravel path. Remember to pack a lunch before leaving Godawari as there are no restaurants or tea shops along the trail.
Returning the same way you came, if you’re hungry, stop in at the army canteen for a refreshment. Take a bus back from Godawari Bus Park to Kathmandu and celebrate the day’s hiking achievement with a mouth-watering meal and a drink or two.

Our hike starts from Godawari which is a 40 minute drive from Thamel. Godawari contains over 570 varieties of flowering plants and lies at the foot of the Phulchowki hill. The trail gradually elevates through thick sub-tropical trees, ideal for bird watching. After walking leisurely for a couple of hours, scenic views of Annapurna and Gaurishanker above and Kathmandu valley below grows fascinating.
The altitude gain in the later part is strenuous but equally rewarding with outstanding views from the top. Buddhist prayer flags can be seen flapping with the cold breeze. At the shrine of Phulchowki Mai, month long religious celebration goes on during March-April every year. The hike downhill after lunch to Godawari takes around two hours where a vehicle awaits us for the drive back to Kathmandu.
