Apart from the national park as an attraction, both of these treks have a wide mountain view, which can be seen from Laurebina or Buddha temple hilltop. But in LVGT on top of the wide range seen from Laurebina – walking along the Langtang river in the Langtang Valley trekking trail adds close up to the mountains seen from the distance. Hill stations like Kyanjing ri or Tsergu ri make trekking more appealing. In addition to the scenery, Langtang Valley Gosainkunda trek is 3 days more than Helambu Gosainkunda trekking.

Route Variation

Helambu Gosainkunda trekking can be done from either of the sides. But trekking anticlockwise makes trekking interesting and helps you to acclimatize more.

In contrast, trekking is regarded as spiritual as well as difficult in terms of acclimatization.

After 45 minutes’ drive from the capital city of Nepal, Kathmandu; we will start trekking from Sundarijal. Sundarijal translates to ferry water in Nepali and this is where most of the drinking water supply in Kathmandu valley is dependent upon. Our trekking enters to the Shivapuri national park, trekking guide will take care of your entry permit and Helambu Gosainkunda lake trekking with Nepalgram begins.
In the beginning of 5 hours trek to Chisapani, we will ascend after crossing the suspension bridge. We will pass jungle (forest of oak tree and rhododendron during spring trekking), villages like Mulkharka village (Tamang caste dominated village of near Kathmandu) and the farming lands where villages will be busy harvesting or planting in their farms.

After breakfast at Kusum, we will start our trekking. We will get the good view of Langtang mountain range along with more scattered village and the country life. We also pass by the local chhorten and stupas by the side of the village. Rhododendron forest and the local people in the jungle with their domestic animals for grazing will be interesting to see. With all the beauty and closeness with the White Mountains; we will walk up and down the green hills.
Yuri danda (ridge in english) and mere danda (nonstop 3 hours uphill walk) are today's challenge. Trekking in the nature will be nice and joyful for most of the walk but when we meet local porters and Sherpa carrying weight double of themselves and walking faster than us will tease us. From Tharepati to Phedi (3780m); Trekking for 7 hours approx

When we talk about Langtang or Helambu Nepal, Gosainkunda Lake trek comes to every one’s mind. So we will take a peaceful rest on the lap of Langtang Mountain. Peace by the side of the lake is nice and memorable. If you are planning to do a short hike, it is possible to climb to the top of Surya peak. Trek down from Chandanbari to Dhunche(1960m); 6 hours

Mostly downhill walk across the village is an easy walk. The villages we pass today will look more developed than previous village walking as we are getting closer to the capital of District. Today is the last day of the trekking in Langtang Halmabu region. Today we will get to Dhunche. Dhunche is a small town in the lap of the mountain. We can see clear view of Langtang lirung on the way from Chandanbari to Dhunche. As today is the last day of the trekking, treat yourself and the team. Have a warm shower and forget the pain and sweating on last few days. Tomorrow you are heading to Kathmandu by tourist bus.

Day 11 :

Drive back from Dhunche to Kathmandu; 6 hours approx

• Activity – Travelling in bus

We will take a tourist bus from Dhunche. After breakfast at the hotel we will start our bus journey to Kathmandu. From the bus you will see nice view of the village on the edge of ridge and deep river valley. Enjoy the bumpy ride of hilly road.

Rest, Shopping or it’s your day at Kathmandu, Thamel.
