The hiking starts from Sundarijal after a one and half hour drive from Kathmandu. Sundarijal is a famous visiting site and a busy picnic spot with an eye pleasing waterfall. Then the hike heads to the Chisapani village, which is a mixed settlement of Gurung, Sherpa and Brahmins. It is enclosed with rocky landscape and traditional houses.
On the way, you will be walking in a Shivapuri watershed and Wildlife reserve. This reserve offers rich insight into the culture; the lifestyle, and tradition of the locals living there. You can also get the best view of mountains like Mount Manaslu, Ganesh Himal ranges, Mt Dorje Lakpa in the Langtang range, Mt Gaurishanker and many other unnamed peaks.

Nagarkot is a famous place to view the towering mountain ranges along with sunrise and sunset. It is situated at an elevation of 2175 meters and is located 35 km east from Kathmandu. If the weather is clear, one can see great views of the Himalayas including Annapurna, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, Langtang, Dorje Lakpa and GauriShankar. The view from Nagarkot is like the view you get from a mountain flight.
Once the sun begins to rise from the back of the Himalayas, it looks so beautiful as the mountain changes its colour.
