Everest Base Camp Trek

Visited July 2018

I signed up for Everest Base Camp trekking with two other people in the group. Trekking was scenic and the weather was fair enough. I had a very lovely time with our guide Arun, who not only guided on the trek but also showed me small details in the countryside (flora and fauna) that I wouldn’t normally have noticed. Trail was nice with all those flowers.

Our guide and porter Saila, took care about food to accommodation; we were asked to start trek early in the morning to catch the view of mountains before clouds comes in, incredible idea of Arun.

I booked the the trek in July/August 2018 which is monsoon in Nepal, meant that the views were more cloudy but we had the mountains and paths to ourselves! The briefing and meeting with Arun in Kathmandu before we started was helpful and the kits provided were very useful. I always felt safe with our guide and everything felt well organized.

All in all, I would highly recommend the Nepalgram for Himalayan trekking and sightseeing tour.

Thank you Arun for a wonderful experience. Arun was an expert at managing logistics for our group to include accommodations, three meals a day along with snacks and water, medical supplies, porters for our bags and travel that included trekking, helicopter rides, plane rides and cars. All in all, we were very pleased with Arun and his expert ability in management and local culture.

Honeymoon Heli Trek to Everest Basecamp

Visited December 2018

It was an incredible experience trekking up to Everest Base Camp with Arun, our guide. We did a 9D trek up, coupled with a helicopter ride down from Gorakshep.

First of all, Arun is a very experienced guide, and he speaks / write eloquent English. We became friends on day 1 of the trek. His cheerful nature and his story telling made our hikes less tedious and more enjoyable. He also chooses huts and rooms which offer better view / comfort (which is important after 7-8h of walking / climbing)

At first we were a bit apprehensive as the longest hike we have done was only a 4D trip at 2.5km altitude – so going up EBC for more than a week straight at 5.3km altitude was something out of our experience. However, Arun was able to assess our physical conditions and adjust the pace accordingly – he was also very encouraging, which helps.

He made sure to systematically measure our oxygen level every night after dinner to check if we are adapting to the altitude. The professionalism made us feel a lot more at ease.

It was our honeymoon and Arun even went all the way out to get us a baked cake at Namche to celebrate the occasion. He also brought us on a slightly detour to see the yatti hand and explained to us the history and beliefs. It’s the small touches and care that makes all the difference.

On the last day we started our trek from Lobuche at 6am and at -25c. It was an immensely satisfying experience reaching the Everest Base Camp. This is thus far the best hiking trip of our lives and we are looking forward to going back to Nepal for more!

Mardi Himal Trek

Visited December 2020

I had the opportunity to trek to Mardi Himal with Nepalgram and the entire experience was incredible. From start to finish, everything was taken care of and helped me pick the right trek for my schedule and skill level. Arun, not only, helped me decide on my trek, but was quick to answer any questions and offer adivce on gear. He was available to answer questions before, during, and after the trip.

My guide, Deepak, was amazing! He was very knowledgable about the history of the trek and Nepal. I was worried about traveling solo, but I felt well cared for and Deepak and I became fast friends on the trek. Also, he is an amazing photographer!

Nepalgram made my first time in Nepal very rememberable and I can’t wait to go on another trek with them!

Everest Base Camp Trek

Visited October 2018

Arun was our trek guide for Everest base camp. The trip was not without some unforeseen speed bumps but he was able to handle it all with calm and kept us going. When flights were delayed for two days and we realized that we would not be able to do the tour he offered an alternative…helicopter ride!!! What an experience though unexpected.

Then on our trek he was able to juggle all our special requests, ailments, and quirks. We found that he was catering to our needs not just sticking to a pre planned itinerary. He really made this trek awesome and went above and beyond. Thanks Arun!!!

Gokyo Everest Base Camp Cho-la Pass Trek

Visited November 2019

Together with my girlfriend I did the EBC and Gokyo Trek last October. I’ve done the Annapurna BC trek before, so I knew how much depends on a good guide. Arun didn’t disappoint at all. We always felt in good hands and couldn’t have asked for a better companion on our side during the 2 weeks.

There are literally a million mountain guides in Nepal, but you wanna be smart and choose someone with good English skills and a good risk assessment capability. Once you go above 5000m thinking straight becomes a problem, so be cautious whom you entrust your life.

I can recommend Arun 200%

I went to Everest Base Camp with Arun as my guide and it was one of the best trips of my life. Arun is extremely knowledgeable about the region and culture and besides seeing the beautiful landscape, I really learned a lot. All lodging was taken care of and anything that was needed was handled immediately by our guides. I was constantly being asked how I felt, if I needed anything, and sometimes just got words of encouragement when I needed it (mostly towards the end when I was cold and tired!). I highly recommend Nepalgram!

P.S. I was a solo traveler and even though I did make friends, I would have never felt left out thanks to my guide.

I Travelled from Scotland in the united Kingdom to Nepal last month as part of a group of students from our local college. we seen many of the beautiful temples while there and then were taken on the everest trek we we guided brilliantly by Arun and a team of sherpas who’s knowledge , enthusiasm and friendship made it the trip of a lifetime . they guided us very safely at all times up and down some of the most challenging yet stunningly beautiful mountainside i have ever seen.

We were even lucky enough to be taken to spend some time in Arun’s home village of Chake where we helped with the village school and met all the wonderful children i was lucky enough to be given a room in aruns own family house. Arun will without doubt look after all your needs on any trip nothing is to much bother for him.
