You’ll be able to witness the majestic sunrise and sunset over Mt. Fistail, and follow the same color spectacle hitting South Annapurna and Mardi Himal. Along the trek you can see diverse beauty starting from the view of the beautiful Pokhara valley, followed by the green hill Deurali; green landscapes and the snow covered mountains behind it.

Mardi himal trekking route is popular also among local Nepali trekkers. If you take the trek between October to December you will probably see snow covered hills all around you, and the Mardi Himal trail after High Camp might even become dangerous with lot of snow. Our trekking itinerary for mardi himal base camp makes a small circuit route with panoramic Mountain View & dense jungle hiking experience.
Short mardi himal trek can be lowest as 3 days but we do not recommend this shortest rush itinerary. We start our trekking after driving in a tourist bus or by direct flight to Pokhara & 2 hour drive to Kande. Mardi Trail goes to a nearest base camps & one Deurali (ridge from where we can see Pokhara), this signifies an easy adventure in short trekking.

Mardi Himal Base camp trek Outline Itinerary – 9 Days
- Day 1 – Welcome to Nepal on arrival
- Day 2 – Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara by tourist bus.
- Day 3 – Drive from Pokhara to Kande by private vehicle and trek to Deurali via the Australian camp.
- Day 4 – Deurali to Low Camp (3000m)
- Day 5 – Low Camp to High Camp (3500m)
- Day 6 – High Camp (3550m) to Mardi Base Camp 4500m
- Day 7 – Trek from High Camp to Sidding.
- Day 8 – Sidding to Pokhara by jeep and half day sightseeing tour of Pokhara valley
- Day 9 – Drive to Kathmandu
Mardi Himal Base camp trek Itinerary
• Altitude – 1380 meters
• Time – 30 minutes hotel transfer time
• Activity – Relax at hotel
Arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu; our office representative will assist you to your hotel. Pre-trip meeting and briefing about your detailed schedule of Mardi Himal Trek.
• Altitude – 1400 meters
• Special – Scenic view from bus

It takes about 8 hours to get to Pokhara by bus; there will be three stops during the scenic journey. If you do not want to go by bus, there is an option to take a 22 minutes flight to Pokhara airport. Please let us know in advance, if you opt for the flight.

From Pokhara we will head towards Phedi where we will start the trek. We will first trek to the Australian camp (2060m), then slightly downhill to Pothana (1950m) and the ACAP / TIMS checkpoint, then up again to Deurali (2100m). Australian camp is nice and beautiful, providing scenic views of the mountains. The camp got its name from a group of Australian students that camped in this place during their trip in 70’s. Previously the place used to have a different name, “Bhaisi Kharka”, which means buffalo grazing field.

From Deurali we will be walking through the forest on the ridge of the hills with the view over beautiful green landscapes on our way to Low Camp. Trail is small and quiet, you will be able to hear chirping of the birds, also monkey sightings are common.

• Time – 5/6 hours
• Activity – Trekking uphill through jungle trail
Sunrise and sunset views of Mount Machhapuchhre, a.k.a. Fishtail, and Mardi from Low Camp are perfect, so waking up early for sunrise would be a suggested start for this day. After a steep walk from Low Camp the trail takes us through the jungle along with occasional glimpses of Annapurna South, until we reach Rest Camp (3170m). View of the Ghandruk village in far sight is really beautiful. Once you get to the Rest Camp, the jungle trekking converts to a no-tree zone. Views of Annapurna south, Fishtail and Mardi herself are amazing.

• Activity – Trekking uphill to Mardi basecamp and downhill while returning to High camp
Open ridge with spectacular views of Machhapuchhre ahead and stunning view of the surrounding mountains like Annapurna South and Mardi herself is amazing. You may start early today, but big breakfast is on demand for today’s ascent to Mardi Himal base camp. Walking over the tree line is nice with all the flowers around and yaks passing by. Be careful walking in the steeper part; follow your guide and his instructions. Pokhara valley, Annapurna base camp, and river George seen on the way are truly mesmerizing.

• Activity – completely dowhill trek along with jungle trail
Trekking down from High Camp to Sidding is mostly downhill towards the forest. Nice forest walk and mountains peeking out time and again make today’s journey enjoyable. Chirping of birds is relaxing but keeps your eyes open for occasional animal sightings in the jungle.

This is the last day of Mardi Himal base camp trek in Nepal. We will take jeep from Sidding village and will get to Pokhara before noon. On arrival at pokhara lake side we will check in to the hotel and do the sightseeing tour of pokhara. Pokhara is famous for cultural and anthropology tour, you will get to know about Nepal from this day tour. The tour will be guided in a private car.

8 hours of drive to Kathmandu from Pokhara is by the highway along the riverside. We will pass by jungles and many riverside resorts. We will get to see many rafting adventure ongoing on the river which we drive by the side.
