• Autumn (mid-September to late November)

Autumn season is regarded as the peak season for trekking in Nepal and this season is also regarded as the best season to trek to Mardi Himal. And the chance of rainfall in this season is very low which will provide you ease during your trek. In autumn morning & night temperature is around 10 – 15 degree Celsius, whereas sunny day temperature is around 20 degree or above.

• Spring (early March to late May)

This season is also regarded as another best season to trek Mardi himal. In this season, the sky will be clear and blue and the nature is outstanding with blooming of flowers (especially rhododendron flower in this time of the year looks awesome); you can find eye-appealing views of greenery around you, the clear mountain ranges, and the colorful rhododendron forest.

In spring morning & night temperature is around 10 degree Celsius, whereas sunny day temperature is around 20 degree or above.

• Monsoon (early June to mid-August)

Monsoon season is regarded average season to trek Mardi Himal. In this season, you cannot find the best views where the sky all day along. Clouds will cover the bluew sky, often & is seen dark and you also can’t find the best view of mountains. In this season the rainfall is frequent in the afternoon, like every day. But sometimes, you can find the best view of nature with clear surrounding followed by the heavy rainfall.

However, traffic of trekker is negligible and the entire trail will be yours, in peaceful environment trekking will be fun thing. Also the nature will be with flowers and greenery, which will make trekking trail as a wild garden.

In Monsson morning & night temperature is around 8 – 15 degree Celsius, whereas sunny day temperature is around 15 degree or above.

• Winter (early December to mid-February)

In winter season Mardi himal becomes very cold with high chance of snow fall and you will find everything frozen at this time. Winter trekking to Mardi himal can be difficult because the trail may be covered with chunk of snow, where mini spikes will be mandatory. However, you also will find the clear views of mountains.

For the small amount of time, the mountains will be covered with fog and for most of the time surrounding greenery around you will be covered with snow. In winter morning & night temperature is around 0 – 8 degree Celsius, whereas sunny day temperature is around 12 degree Celsius or above.

Accommodation

During Mardi Himal Trek, you will get an accommodation in the hotel, lodges and teahouse as per the destination you are going to stay. You will be staying at the hotel which includes B&B plan in Kathmandu and Pokhara. And when you left Pokhara and start your trek, you will get an accommodation in the tea house with basic facilities and services, your guide will be your waiter because of circumstances.

If you are trekking in the spring and autumn season the price for accommodation will be high because these seasons are the peak season of Mardi himal trek. But in monsoon and winter season; you can find the accommodation cheaper comparatively and the environment/ (trekking trail) will also be peaceful in monsoon & winter season, because in this time, there are less people in the trek.

Despite of these two places (Kathmandu and Pokhara) with better facilities, you have to adjust yourself in other places, like in the tea house with shared room accommodations or local lodge with very basic facility. In high altitude destination, where there is difficulty to build the best hotels, you can only find teahouses or local lodge.

During your stay at teahouses, you will only offer with basic services. But the food can be ordered as per your choice from the menu, food in the menu will be similar in most of the tea houses, however. You will surely get an experience of Nepal’s teahouse during your trek. Nothing much, but you will carry lifetime memories at last.

Mardi Himal trek Difficulty

Mardi Himal trek falls under moderate trekking in Nepal within Annapurna Conservation Area. This trek will be easier for trekkers to trek in Mardi himal trekking route, in comparison to other trekking areas of Nepal. Mardi himal trek doesn’t take lots of time; it can be completed in 5-9 days where 2-3 days will be spend on transportation or flight.

So, this short duration of the trekking period can be benefit to the trekkers, for not using their effort much.

What are the factors that are included in Mardi Himal Trek Cost, in general?

• Trekking Permit & TIMS

The permit is needed to enter inside Annapurna Conservation Area. The permit cost is approximately USD 30 (NPR 3000) per person per entry for foreign citizen and NPR 200 per person per entry for SAARC nationals. Mardi himal trek route is inside the Annapurna Conservation Area. TIMS is another permit that trekkers need to buy for trekking in Mardi Himal trek. TIMS costs USD 10 per person.

• Number of Days

Your trekking days also affect the Mardi himal trek cost; number of days you choose for your trek. If you choose less days the price will be ultimately low in comparison to choosing of longer trekking days. You will also have to pay fee for everything included in the cost & the service, as per day basis of your trekking.

• Accommodation, Food and Season

Accommodation and food cost of the trek changes as per the season. In spring and autumn season the cost of the accommodation and food is expensive in comparison to monsoon and winter season in Mardi himal trek. The company has to employ license guide and porter for Mardi himal trek. The fee for the guide is about USD 30-50 per day and the fee for the porter is USD 20-30 per day. The more your trekking days, the more you have to pay the fee of guide and porter.

• Transportation

Transportation also affects the cost of Mardi Himal trekking.
