Mardi trek, the most popular short treks include the Annapurna Base Camp Trek and many others. Mardi trek is opened for tea house trek in 2012 and is still going strong.

When it comes to trekking in the Annapurna Region, the mardi trek is one of the undiscovered jewels. A best short trekking for the best view. You will see 90% of the ABC trekking trail during mardi trek.

You have the option to travel off the beaten path and around the corner of the ABC trek map. Trip to Annapurna Base Camp connects to the trail of Mardi at some point. The mardi trek excursion can also be connected to ABC trek. Annapurna base camp and Mardi Himal base camp are parallel trail. Mardi base camp is situated between Fish Tail Mountain and Mardi Himal and Machhapuchhre.

Best season

After traveling from Pokhara for 1 hour, the Mardi Himal hike begins at Kande or Phedi. Phedi is steep uphill trail whereas Kande is longer drive. The track is excellent on either of the entry pints. Australian Camp (2060 meters) is the best view point for Kande entry. Where as; Pothana (1950 meters) is the destination for the night for most of the trekkers. Some people stay at Deurali (2100m), which is around 1 hour walk from pothana. Pothana is beautiful.

Best season for Mardi trekking          

The best season for the Mardi Himal Trek is autumn. The months of September, October, and November are considered autumn. Another greatest hiking times of year in Nepal is spring. Spring is March, April and may.

Because of the summer rains, the Annapurna region’s surroundings become clearer during the post-monsoon season in autumn.

The mardi trek itinerary offers an incredible adventure in the beautiful Annapurna region of Nepal. With two entry points, Phedi and Kande, you have the option of a steep uphill trail or a longer drive. Regardless of the entry point, the track is excellent and promises breathtaking views. For those starting from Kande, don’t miss the opportunity to visit Australian Camp, a fantastic viewpoint at 2060 meters. Pothana, located at 1950 meters, is the popular overnight destination for most trekkers, while some opt to stay at the picturesque Deurali, just an hour’s walk away. Following are the possible itineraries for Mardi himal trek.

Six days mardi trek itinerary

  1. Day 01:Drive to Phedi and trek to Deurali (2200m, about 3 to 4 hours trek)
  2. Day 02:Trek to Low Camp (2,900m) 7 hours walking.
  3. Day 03:Trek to High Camp (3585m) 5-6 hours trekking.
  4. Day 04:Hike Mardi Himal BC (4500m); back to Middle Camp (3200m)
  5. Day 05:Trek to Kalimaati (1,750m) 6 to 7 hours walking.
  6. Day 06:Trek to Lumre and drive to Pokhara- 3 hours walking and 2 hours driving.

Five days itinerary

  1. Day 1-Pokhara – Australian Camp – Deurali- 2100m, Deurali   1 hour drive, 4-5 hours walk  
  2. Day 2-Pitan Deurali -Forest Camp – Rest Camp – Low Camp- 2985m, Low Camp   7 hours walk  
  3. Day 3-Low Camp – High Camp.- 3550m, High Camp   4 hours trekking 
  4. Day 4-Hike to Mardi Himal Base Camp and trek down to Badal Danda- 4500m, Mardi Himal Base Camp   6-7 hours walk 
  5. Day 5-Badal Danda – Siding- Pokhara- 830m, Pokhara   5 hours walk, 2 hours’ drive

Mardi trek with ABC trek itinerary

  • Day 1. Bus Pokhara – Kande. Trek Kande – Landruk, 16km
  • Day 2. Landruk – Forest Camp, 5km
  • Day 3. Forest Camp – High Camp, 8,5km
  • Day 4. High Camp – Base Camp – High Camp, 9km
  • Day 5. High Camp – Landruk, 12km

  • Day 7. Sinuwa – Deurali, 14km
  • Day 8. Deurali – ABC, 9km
  • Day 9. ABC – Bamboo/Sinuwa, 15km/19km
