If you compare Manaslu circuit trek with round Annapurna trek, both of them are very similar from the landscape perspective and as well as temperature, difficulty. The difference in between around Annapurna trek and Manaslu circuit trek is the development of road network. The number of vehicles you can see along the Annapurna circuit trekking route is not same as in Manaslu circuit trek.
Comparing with famous Everest base camp Trek, Manaslu circuit trek makes loop over the high pass and the destination you will be traveling will not repeat. In case of Everest base camp trek, you have to repeat at least 4 destinations and 6 days of hiking. Because even if you do a circuit treks like three high passes trek or gokyo Ri trek or chola pass trekking; you have to repeat the destination. However, you will be making a circuit trail from Namche to Namche.
Comparing with Kanchenjunga trek in Nepal. Manaslu circuit trekking is moderately easier and accommodation, food, root, other facilities is better in Manaslu circuit trek than in Kanchenjunga circuit trek. From the trail perspective both of these treks are circuit trails and you don’t have to repeat the destination. However, Kanchenjunga trekking is a longer trekking than Manaslu circuit trekking. Manaslu circuit trekking can be it’s shortest as12 days.
Langtang valley trek can be another comparison with Manaslu circuit trekking. There are at least four different types of trekking routes in Langtang valley region trekking. But here I can give a comparison to one of the Langtang valley trek which is similar to Manaslu circuit trekking in the number of days. That is langtang valley gosainkunda pass trek along the route over Suryakunda pass.
This is also called Langtang helambu trekking. Langtang valley trek – 7 days easy trek of Langtang. On that basis; Langtang circuit trekking is not as demanding as challenging is Manaslu circuit trekking. At the same time Manaslu trek is hard and it is also beautiful and nicer than Langtang circuit trek. I would recommend to choose my Manaslu circuit trekking over Langtang valley helambu trek.
It is very hard to differentiate between Manaslu circuit trek and Everest Gokyo ri trek. It is because Everest Gokyo ri trek is one of the beautiful destination in Nepal, with no doubt. So far my personal preference is concerned I prefer Everest Gokyo ri trek in Everest basecamp region versus manaslu trek. However, on the basis of discussion above; Everest Gokyo ri trek is not a complete circuit trip like Manaslu circuit trek.
The major difference here is- in Everest Gokyo ri trek, you will be able to see mount Everest and the lakes og Gokyo. Lakes are unreal and which are really beautiful. But manaslu trek, surely, does not give the view of mount Everest. From the perspective of difficulty comparison, both of the trekking destinations are close to each other.
However Comparing with everest three high passes trek. EBC 3 high pass trek will be harder than manaslu circuit trek. Just to make sure that you are getting the right idea here, Everest three high passes trek is very different from manaslu circuit trek. I’m saying this is because, Everest three high pass trek is more about mountaineering, climbing, getting the view of the snow caped Himalayas of Nepal and walking over the high passes around Mt Everest.
There will be less of the cultural and traditional excursion during Everest three high passes trek. Where as in manaslu circuit trek you will be able to get the view of the mountains along with the cultural and traditional aspect of life of people and the nature in the manaslu region.
