Everest Base camp trek is tea house trek but Nepalgram also operate camping trek to everest basecamp. You will not find any trekking like EBC trekking trail, nowhere else on the planet. Villages in the mountains with hotels, restaurants, and tea houses (small hotels). In most of these places you can grab a bite to eat, stock up on groceries and so on. You do not necessarily need to stay in tents on the EBC Trek.

Teahouses with comfortable mattresses, wood-burning stoves (higher up in no tree line zone they use Yak pop), and restaurants are common to witness where you stay in each of your destination. Although the flight to Lukla is one considered as flight to the world’s most dangerous airport, it is also know to be Nepal’s most gorgeous flights. You can say it as mountain flight. Kathmandu to Lukla flight, Phaplu Everest Base Camp Trek route trekking after flight to Phaplu (considerably safer airport than Lukla airport), Jiri to Everest Base Camp route without flight involved, overland Everest base camp trekking starting from Phaplu and so on are all options for getting to Everest Base Camp.

Trekkers, on the other hand, prefer the Lukla flight, even though it is perilous, because they want to see forested hills, valleys, brilliant rivers and communities, and more. From the air, you can see lush terrace farmlands, you will fly above the clouds, and fly by the side of gorgeous waterfalls cascading through the deep forest, among other things to see from short flight from Kathmandu to Lukla.

You can get your first glimpse of Mt. Everest when you arrive at Tenzing Hillary Airport in Lukla. Our adventure begins here at Lukla (also known as the famous Gateway to Everest ) and takes us through astonishing landscapes, rivers, valleys, towns, religious and cultural landmarks before arriving at the awaited Everest Base Camp.

Exploring Around Sagarmatha National Park (a UNESCO World Heritage Site)

We pass enter inside Sagarmatha National Park at Monjo village, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in the Khumbu region, on our journey to Namche Bazaar. To visit protected region of everest, you must first obtain authorization, which can be obtained at the entrance point of National park, at Monjo.

Forest of pines, oaks, junipers, bamboo, and rhododendrons along the everest trekking trail has made EBC trek as a best trek in Nepal. Wild life are seen often along the trail of Everest base camp, as well as a Himalayan-based ecology. This woodland is home to many of the region’s endangered flora and species.

You might spot uncommon species such as snow leopards, blue sheep, Himalayan goats, and eagles while walking along the trail of EBC & the woods. While traveling towards Namche Bazaar, the jungle trails between Lukla & Namche provides opportunities for birds, animal & jungle life sighting while having fun in the nature walks.

Tallest Suspension Bridge

This is the Khumbu region’s highest suspension bridge, which spans on top of the milky Dudh Kosi River. The water in the river comes all the way from Everest base camp itself.

This is the last bridge before the hard uphill trek to Namche Bazaar on Day 2 or 3 of the Everest Base Camp Trek. The bridge is both adventurous and scenic. The religious prayer flags adorning the bridge give it a religious and spiritual feel, whereas the swinging bridge will excite you as you pass it.

Namche Bazaar (Tourist Hub & trading center of Everest Region)

Namche Bazaar is also known as the Everest Region Tourism Capital and home to the Khumbu’s largest sherpa village. The lovely village of Namche serves as a rest and acclimatization stop for most of the Everest Region treks, including the Everest Base Camp Trek.

Namche Bazaar’s major occupation is tourism. This Sherpa settlement offers stunning views of peaks such as Kongde Ri (6,187m), Thamserku (6,623m), and the majestic Everest (8,848m). However to see Mt everest you need to climb all the way to the top of the village. There is national park museum from where the view of everest and the entire range is fantastic.

There are various cafés, restaurants, hotels, bakeries, Tibetan handicraft shops, museums, and other establishments around the town, so you may spend your break day at Namche visiting these establishments and indulging in delicious local food and beverages.

Tengboche Monastery (One of the old & renowned Buddhist Stupa in Everest Region)

Tengboche monastery is located on a hilltop in Tengboche village, near the confluence of the Dudh Kosi and Imja rivers. Tengboche monastery was constructed by Lama Gulu in 1916. Tengboche monastery is the biggest monastery in the upper Khumbu region. This monastery is heavily influenced by Tibet’s Rongbuk Monastery.

From the Tengboche Monastery, you can see Everest, Tawache, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, and Thamserku, among other peaks. Watch the video to find how does the view of Mt Everest & surrounding mountains looks from the Tengboche monastery.

Trekkers and mountaineers visit this holy spot to learn about the monastery’s history and to pray for the success of their Everest expedition or Everest treks. People doing any expedition in the Everest region perform puja ceremony at the Monastery.

Every evening and morning the regular puja ceremony of Tengboche monastery has ample of attendees. Monks & Lama live in this monastery, where they practice daily Buddhist rites every morning & evening. Aside from that, the Tengboche monastery is well-known for its Sherpa festival celebrations.

Everest View Hotel (The high altitude star Hotel)

If you do not visit Everest View Hotel, your trek will be incomplete, as most of the trekkers doing everest base camp trek hike to Everest view hotel as a part of acclimatization hike from Namche. The Everest View Hotel is Nepal’s Highest Altitude star Hotel and one of the world’s highest hotels. In 2004, it was also listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the World’s Highest Altitude Hotel.

Everest View Hotel is a couple hours of hiking from Namche Bazaar. Hiking trail towards Everest view hotel from Namche is uphill – this is why acclimatization hike is very suitable in this trail.

This high altitude hotel will open its terrace to hikers, so they can enjoy the vista and landscape of a lifetime. From the terrace, there are (more than 15 named) spectacular views of snow-capped peaks, the highest of which is Everest. You can taste local cuisines while appreciating the surrounding mountain vistas at the hotel’s restaurant, which is located either outside or on the rooftop.

You may use the internet or Wi-Fi while staying here, and the accommodations are wonderful. Nepalgram has a everest base camp luxury package which has one night stay at this star hotel with view of Everest from all the rooms they have.

KalaPatthar (The place to hike for sunrise view with backdrop of Mt Everest)

Kalapatthar is the Everest Base Camp Trek‘s high elevated point. Kalapatthar means a massive black rock mountain that rises to a height of 5,500 meters. Kalapatthar is one of Nepal’s top viewpoints for both the sunrise and sunset views, as well as panoramic vistas and scenery.

Trekkers start uphill trek to Kalapatthar early in the morning before sunrise to reach the summit, it is 2 to 3 hours before the sun rise time. The viewpoint offers panoramic views of Everest, as well as Lhotse, Makalu, Ama Dablam, and thousands of other peaks from Nepal& Tibet Mountain ranges.

Everest Base Camp (The Final Destination of EBC Trek) – 5364 meters above the sea level

At an elevation of 5364 meters, the Everest Base Camp is the closest spot to have face-to-face interactions with Mt. Everest without climbing gear. Trekkers feel a sense of inner serenity and success after working hard for days and finally reaching Everest Base Camp and exploring this wonderful land of snow and rocks.

Colorful prayer flags adorn the entire Everest Base Camp area, which also includes a vast valley, eye-catchy snowy peaks, and the stunning Khumbu Glacier Ice-fall. For many people doing Everest Base Camp Helicopter Tours, it is a demanding landing spot.
